Job Summary:
The Laborer will be responsible for supporting a variety of general tasking. Laborers perform mainly physical labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials. This position performs such duties as a fire watch, cable puller, and as an electrician’s helper. Laborers may also assist in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of equipment. Laborers complete simple routine tasks under close supervision from lead type personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
Moving and un-crating of equipment.
Moving supplies and materials to proper location by hand or hand trucks.
Loading and unloading trucks.
Installation of electronic equipment, banding cableways, pulling cables, lagging.
Traveling to job sites as required by the PM and in accordance with the Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR).
Using power tools.
Painting small areas, as needed.
Sweeping and cleaning up behind technicians.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen with the ability to gain and maintain access to both shipyards and government facilities, as required by the contract.
High School diploma, or equivalent.
Must willing to work more than 40 hour workweeks (60-hours per week).
Ability to work in a shipboard environment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work in a shipboard industrial environment.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 pounds).
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
